We can trace our beginning to the Kimball Company
founded in 1921 by Charles Kimball, the Grandfather of the current
President. For the next decade, Kimball Company was a distributor
for Levi in Utah and Idaho. Following this association, the Company
sold appliances, Magic Chef furnaces, sewing machines, and eventually
war surplus supplies.
In 1951, the Company started its association with the consumer
electronics business, as we became one of the first distributors
of television, the Sylvania Halo-Glow. In the late 1950’s
Kimball Electronics became the first distributor for Cannon, the
leading electronic connector supplier. This electronic component
division continues today.
In 1992, the Company purchased Boyd Distributing. With this
acquisition, we started the distribution of specialty
appliances.
Today, the Company employs 250 people and has over 200,000 Sq.
feet of warehouse space. Our primary marketing area is in the
Western United States.
Kimball has its headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah with branch
offices in Denver, CO , Boise and Pocatello, Idaho. We have two
divisions; Kimball Electronics, Kimball Distributing.
